Welcome to my new blog for professional sales

Hi, welcome to my new blog. For what it is worth, I am an active sales guy. I have a quota to hit and run this blog in my spare time.

On a weekly basis, I will post up real life trials and tribulations of what has happened in my world as a professional sales guy. So - if you want to keep a track of what I get up to, pick up tips and share my real world experience, make sure you visit here every week.

Today I had one of the most painful experiences a sales person can have. My largest prospect who was using my product on a trial basis decided to can my proposition and had politely asked me to come and collect my kit. To put this into perspective, I have been working this for a year and it's value was in excess of £1 million pounds ($2 million dollars !)

What had let me down? Well, end user experience and a regulatory licencing issue that has it's roots with the manufacturer. No matter what I tried, I couldn't recover it.

So - the best thing to do ? Strike it off my pipeline, bounce back straight away and refocus on my other key prospects.

More next week...
